Very cool way to use sashing to make a huge impact. Cool quilt! Thanks for posting it! Hugs ;-)

Wow congratulations on such a cool quilt and such a great raffle result! We now have a rescue kitty in the office. One of my secretary's dog sitting owners called her up about a cat hanging around their house and the dog owner didn't want to deal with it, so she went to the house and got the cat. She got it vetted and it is hanging out here until we find it a home. The cat is so sweet, about a year old, and doesn't have a mean bone in its body. The cat was hanging on me yesterday as I was doing a mediation, I explained to the people that we have a rescue cat in the office for a little bit. I think they know when they have been rescued and are very grateful. It was nice to see this quilt today. Hugs!

Heard a tell they may be working through the whole series. This year they did the first Harry Potter. I liked that too.
Ahsoka is Anakin Skywalker's padawan, introduced in the animated series Clone Wars. The animated series is extremely good, and then Ahsoka got her own series on Disney Plus. There is also a short one about her when she was a baby on Disney Plus, touching a saber tooth tiger that was going to eat her, and taming the tiger that then carried her back to her village on its back. Ahsoka uses 2 light sabers that are white. There was a lot of Ahsoka merch last year at Disneyworld including Ahsoka ears. Anakin trained her and made her ditch the mechanical shooters in favor of a cadre of elite clones who shot her in light saber drills until she was able to anticipate and deflect all of the clone shots. It ended up saving her life. In the Disney Plus Ahsoka series, she is almost killed and sees Anakin who talks to her. They brought back Hayden Christensen for the role, and you realize how gifted of an actor he really is. If you get a chance to see the different series with her, you will enjoy them.

I have not been online or posting on the Board becasue, I was in the path of the Portage, MI tornado and lost all power and internet. My condo building is fine with minor damage like missing siding and downspouts. No damage to me except an accelerated heart rate but that came today when I got out and saw the devastation. A quick 2 minute walk south or or a 5 minute walk east of me was massive destruction of buildings and trees. Just immediately south of me is a huge swampy nature preserve and protected forest of several hundred acres that is now only stripped and broken tree trunks or trees that have been blown over with their root balls completely exposed. So very, very sad. It will be quite a while before our "Tree City" designation will be accurate again. I am admittedly a tree huger and I miss the ambiance of the missing trees and the canopy of high leafy branches already.

Back to 2.5's .....Love the quilt photo, Gemm. A striking use of squares and the black and white sashing to form stars is very clever.

JENNR8R, the cat rescue group has your number now! A cute quilt but at $2500, a pretty terrific fundraising item too.Woozers! Congratulations and start planning for next year.

Reba, Thanks for the info on the SW character. I just never knew. My SIL and his kiddos, my grands, are avid SW fans. When the twins were about four they were Luke and Leia for Halloween. Their little brother was an Ewok and their 6 foot 6 inch dad was, you guessed it, Darth Vader. Perfect for their first time out into the world of collecting candy in plastic pumpkins. No one messed with them when Vader was escorting them from door to door.

Missed the chatter from my online quilting friends these past few days. Maybe I can do some sewing tomorrow since I have electricity again.

WMUT, wow! So glad you are ok. There seem to be tornadoes breaking out everywhere these days. It is sad about the tree preserve being so hard hit.

Oh my gosh, so glad you’re safe!

I guess every area of the country has its meteorological hazards. Down here on the Gulf Coast…hurricanes!

Welcome back, and fingers crossed for continued safety and ample electricity!

Clear skies tonight, so hoping for some Northern Lights. Even just some blurry colors in the sky will do just fine with me. May be some color palette inspiration.

Good morning and Happy Mother’s Day! Hope everyone has a pleasant day with family and friends. My grands and their parents will be here shortly for the afternoon and dinner. And a friend will be joining us. Should be fun.
