I'm trying to spread the word...

If you know any graduating high school seniors going on to study math, science or engineering, PLEASE have them apply for the Phil Guza Memorial Scholarship! Application deadline extended to July 15. $500 check is waiting for the right student!

My sons Pete and Tom have set this up in memory of their father, who died in the WTC on 9/11. Because this is the first year the scholarship is being awarded, word has not gotten out...we need applications! Please tell anyone you know who might qualify.

BTW, I made a quilt that will be raffled with monies going to the scholarship fund, but it is still at the LAQs. Sorry, no picture yet.

What a great thing for them to do. My boys are not old enough!! I'm sure some deserving student will apply! Can't wait to see pics.

Do you have to live in that area or can anyone from any state apply? I know my brother set up a scholarship fund to honor his late wife but it's given out only to Education majors at the Univ. of Il., that's why I'm asking. The UofI was her alma mater.
