I am curious, how many fat quarters would I need to do a bargello quilt? I am not looking to do a large quilt. Lap quilt size is what I want. I have never made one of these and I want to attempt one. I have some fat quarters to use ...Anyone make a Bargello with just fat quarters...is what I am asking hahahaha...sorry for the rambling

you need the full WOF --- short pieces won't give you the length to get your strips.

You could do the scrappy bargello on Quiltville.
http://quiltville.com/scrapbargello.shtml
Her pattern uses 128 2-1/2"X16" strips, so you could get 8 strips if you cut the width of your fat quarter, which should be 16". You could also use any strip scraps you have or ay fabrics that you like that would be at least this size.

I made the scrappy for a 5 year old in bright colored fat quarters. It was really cute!
