Gracie II quilt frame owners I have a question for you..

I have searched the entire Gracie II comments/post on this site and still have a question about purchasing the stitch regulator vs the cruise control thing. Are they necessary the stitch regulatoris $499 and the crusie thing is $60. I am not sure if the cruise thing comes with the frame I am buying won't be able to call till the am. Thank you for your help I am just excite and want to make sure I am learning all I can before it gets here!! Oh I have a Juki 98-Q machine I am using for it. Oh and do you really use the pantograph things they sell the wood/plastic or do you just print them up? With my frame I am getting the grace pantograph maker CD. Again thank you for your time. Jade

I'll try to answer your questions. I have a Juki 98Q and a GMQ frame. I have the sure stitch regulator as well. The difference is this- the cruise control is a just a speed control- if that is what you have, you still have to move the machine at a constant speed to get even stitches. The Sure Stitch is a stitch regulator, which means no matter how fast or slow you go, your stitches remain regular and even.
Lots of people have said that you don't really need the stitch regulator, but I really like having mine. It means I can try out new things at a speed I'm comfortable with and still get even stitches, so it was worth the money for me.
I didn't buy the pantograph thing, because I prefer free motion, so I can't answer that question.
I will say that the stitch regulator is tricky at first, and also that Grace company has the best customer service ever- if you run into trouble, CALL them first!

Mine came with the cruise so I can't answer your question but the little gracie II is a great frame I have the Janome 1600P on mine and it was easy to learn to use the only problem was it took my son and husband 6 hours to put the frame together but once going I love it

I love my sure stitch, now that I know how to work it!!!
I bought the plastic pantos and really like them for the accuracy as opposed to following the lines with the laser pointer.
Mostly it is all personal choice, as with everything.
