Mom made this quilt in 1927 at the age of 14. When I started quilting she went up to her trunk and got it out and gave it to me. It had never been quilted. I now have it on a frame that my sons made for me when I retired. The quilt is 83 years old.

I love that pattern! (isn't it the glorified nine patch?) It's on my "make some day" list.
You do have a treasure there. Congrats to you.

That is a beautiful treasure! Think of all the love she put into it! If it could talk the stories would be so interesting:)

Beautiful quilt, and lovely story. I just saw the lovely frame your son's made for you. Your mother would be so happy to know her quilt is being finishes with love.

What a beautiful quilt. Is it scary working on something so old? You're very brave! I want to see it when it's off of the frame. Please. Meanwhile it is a treasure for sure.

Curiosity here. Did your mom hand piece this? I'm still in awe!
