Hi, I'm Gayle from Downeast Maine. I live on Bear Cove on Meddybemps Lake. I have been seriously quilting for almost 30 years. I actually got my start when I was about 8. My grandmother gave me a cigar box full of small fabric squares, a spool of thread, a needle and a pair of scissors. I made "blankets for all my dolls. Growing up I sewed all my clothes, but I didn't really do any quilting until many years later.
I work part time at the local community college tutoring math. I have 8 grandkids, 4 girls and 4 boys. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing ideas through this site.

Welcome from Southern Indiana! Glad to hear someone made doll blankets instead of 'pockets'...seems like that's all my young'uns wanted to make when playing with needle and thread...
