Some of you saw the pictures of my old signature blocks on Cissyquilts thread. While trying to decide what to do with them, I decided to make my own version with all of My and DH's family member names. It turned out pretty cool even tho I botched some of the writing trying to add some dates at a time when I had no business touching a quilt, but not much I can do about it now. It has been just setting in my closet for 4 yrs now so maybe one day I can bring myself to work on it. Anyway the fabric for the Blocks was all given to me by DH's grandmother that she had used to make clothing for her children.

Very neat!! A quilt with a history!! It would be fun to have photos of the different clothes that were made with the fabric through out the years. :D

Oh and Moonpi, if you read this, I love the idea of using the odd 13th block of the old blocks as a center medalion!! Thanks!!!

That looks great Melissa! I wish I had some old fabric that belonged to my family. I still need to come up with some ideas for your old signature blocks. Maybe you could use 12 on the front and put the 13th on the back? Just a thought.

I had thought about that but it kind of made me feel like I was banishing the old gal to the back so couldnt do that! :D

That's neat. Is it all pieced or is there some applique in there?

The design of the blocks is hand appliqued.
