1 lb hamburger (ground round or chuck)
1 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
3 15-oz cans pork and beans
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar

On medium heat, brown ground beef with onion and bell pepper.
While this is browning: Mix the remaining ingredients together.
After beef is browned: Mix all together and pour into an 9x13 casserole dish or cast iron pot.
Cover with foil or a lid and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

2nd option: Instead of using the oven, you can cook it on top of stove for 35 minutes, using low heat.

*My family loves this dish whether we're at home or when camping. It's goes great with a steak or just hamburgers.

My family loves it, and it's always been a crowd pleaser.

Sounds like a good family dinner for this cold weather--thanks for sharing it!

You're welcome! I should have added in my original post that you could just make a meal out of it since it has meat in it! If I cooked it n our house just for a meal, I would also make biscuits to go along with it because my husband loves his biscuits!!! :-D

Dang, that is my regular baked beans recipe only no bell pepper. Also sounds like an old Betty Crocker recipe for Chuckwagon Beans. My boys love this. Just read what you added. I put biscuits on top some times when I bake it plus another pan. We cook alike. My BIL will make hisself sick eating this. Can't get enough.
