Oriental Hourglass - SWAP CLOSED
#13
Ok when I drew the block out in EQ it said the center black square would be 4-3/4". The 8 color B triangles would be cut from 4 squares @ 3-7/8". The 4 large color C triangles would be cut from 7-3/16" squares. The 12 color D (lightest)triangles would be cut from 6 squares @ 3-7/8".
Hope this helps!

Not so sure about this although it is a pretty block. The dimensions needed to make it to a 12" finished block sound like a bit of a pain. I don't know how crucial getting that 1/16th of an inch right will be - but pretty sure I don't want to hassle w/that small of a measurement.

When I try to figure it myself I end up with it either too little or too big. Did one three different wrong ways before I finally just added a border to the smallest of the wrong size blocks! Not the block I had originally intended, but it looked ok after all.

I am thinking of getting EQ7, do you draw with yours? That is the main reason I want it. I design some of my own blocks and all of my quilts, I really just can't read the patterns very well.

I would like to know why this swap does not a pattern and the measures are not correct how we to know what to make if there is not picture of the sq. I do not have one of the EQ things and really need a pattern So guess I am not going to be doing this swaps and I would really like to. I thought was equal for all levels of quilt makers.
