Best Thread Rack EVER
#1
I saw this photo on one of the embroidery groups I belong to. Everyone has been asking for directions, but so far, no answers. It looks like it might be made of the frames of folding louvered doors because I think I see a little peek of a hinge in there. Anyway, I am hoping that my DH and DS can make me one for my birthday on the 29th of this month. (I'm dreaming ...) Space is at a premium in my sewing room, but I have floor to ceiling shelving from IKEA and I think it would make a terrific door on the front of one! I have TONS of thread and just purchased a bargain lot of 260 cones of embroidery thread that is still in the shipping box. What do you think?

I've added two more pix. There are directions for the second one at KitLitter Kreations Yahoo Group. Scroll down to see them.

If it weren't for the fading issue -- wouldn't that make a great window treatment?
Yes, if anyone can figure this out and share plans, please do.
The woman who posted the picture is from Alabama and hasn't responded for a couple of weeks. I just hope she's safe from the flooding!

I've seen those. Some use two 1x4's (lumber) with drilled holes set on an angle so you can slip a dowel rod thru to hang ribbon rolls, rolls of wrapping paper, etc. The one like you have pictured has 1x4's also just nailed in -on an angle- with pieces of dowel rods for the thread. Your does look like they have it as a hinged door. But very easy to make, according to DH.
