I posted another thread about choosing between a 301 or a 185K and through various e-mails the seller assured me it was working great-she told me she had sewn on the machine. I met them at Lowes where the machine looked good in the case, gave them my $ drove away and pulled over after a few miles. I kick myself that I didn't look it over better, but I was excited. Guess what? No bobbin case. I e-mailed her, but I'm sure I won't hear back. The machine does run, feed dogs move etc. but my $75 find isn't such a great find anymore if I have to purchase a $35 bobbin case:< Ack.

The 301A. I've got her all spiffed up and besides the missing bobbin case it seems in good shape. Of course there's some paint gouges and dings but I'm going to use it, not put it on a shelf. I cleaned and oiled it and will hold my breath for a few days waiting for the seller to *hopefully* find it.

Penni, I noticed the screws at the feed dog plate are a bear to get in and out!! And you have to get the plated seated just so or it will make some noise. I got it worked out, but I'm not looking forward to cleaning this area regularly. I worry about stripping the screws??
