I received this soup recipe from one of the ladies in my SS class. She is a wonderful cook! I like a more spicy version and use the hot taco seasoning.

    Taco Soup
    1 -1 1/2# hamburger
    1/2 cup chopped onion
1 - 28 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
1- 15 oz. can kidney beans, undrained
1- 15 oz. can kernel corn, undrained
    1 - 8 oz. tomato sauce
    1 -2 cups of water
    1 envelop Taco seasoning
    salt and pepper to taste
    grated cheddar cheese

Brown hamburger and onion in deep skillet. Stir in remaining ingredients except cheese. Simmer 15. mins. Garnish with shredded cheese and serve with tortilla chips.

This is a great to-go soup. I have been making it for several years and it is served often at our "ladies" meetings. Freezes great and left-0vers are just as good. Easy and delicious.

It is a family favorite here. And hard to mess it up.
I add a can of tomato soup (undiluted)to sweeten the tomato base.
I throw in Black beans sometimes too to make it different.
    My daughter likes extra corn.
And we do fresh oninions on top as the kids don't eat onions.
Sour Cream as a garnish is nice too.
    YUM!

Sounds very similar to mine, but I use Pinto beans and black beans, drained and rinsed. Sooooo good!

Thank you for the recipe. Late DH liked this really well, but I had no written recipe and DH is no longer here to fix it. I remember he would get a regular package of dry Ranch dressing and he used hominy in place of the corn. yum yum
