This recipe was given to me by a coworker several yrs ago and has never failed to come out wonderfully smooth and delicous.
1 stick butter
4 1/2 cup sugar
1 can pet evaporated milk
Put into a HEAVY PAN, to prevent scorching.Bring to a boil and cook 11 min, stirring often.
Remove from heat and add;
1 small jar marshallow cream
1- 12oz bag chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla
Beat until everything is well blended(mixer is good)Pour into buttered 9x12 dish, Cool and cut ito sqs. I add about 1/2 c
peanut butter for taste, can also add nuts. I have used peanutbutter chips instead of choc. Enjoy!

Mom has made this fudge ever since I was a tiny kid...the secret she has now is to melt everything in the microwave. It turns out wonderful every time. :) Thank you for posting this. To me is the best fudge ever...not gritty or grainy like some fudge can be. :D

I make same fudge but use the recipe on back of marshmallow cream jar. Calls for 3 cups sugar, 1&i/2 sticks butter, small can pet milk, cook to hard boil and cook 4 mnutes. Stir to keep from sticking. Add a 12 oz jar pf marshmallow cream and a 12 oz package of chocolate chips( semi sweet). fold all in smoothly then add a cup of chopped nuts and a teaspoon of vanilla.
I line my 9x13 pan with foil. When cool remove from pan and cut into squares.

I use black walnuts and add a cup of peanut butter at the same time.
