I love this idea. I think I will make them to fit my fruit bread loaves I give for gifts. Also, one to hold two jars of homemade jams and jellies. Boy, this will be great at bazaars. Thank you so much.

You don't need fray check for the ends of the ribbons if they are acrylic or other manmade fabric. Try running them through an open flame (i.e., a lit match) to see if they melt and thus, seal the ends to stop them from fraying. The same is true of acrylic yarn.
