Just wanted to let you all know, I do plan to finish this quilt. Hopefully this winter. I would love to see what others have done since the tutorial was posted early 2012.

Yes. Just regular Crayola crayons were used. Hope you give it a try, it's fun to blend the colors.

I really enjoyed your tute and your bird is beautiful! I've done a few blocks with crayons the way you say to do it, but I haven't embroidered around the blocks...that really adds such nice touch! Thank you so much for the additional infomation and example! Lovely!
