Has anyone washed these yet? If so, how much shrinkage did you get?

Do you use cotton thread or cotton/poly blend? I have seen microwave fabric item tutorials on the net and some of them specify only cotton thread because of the microwave temperature.

Thank you. Great pattern and great tutorial. One question: Do you use a special needle when using 100% cotton batting? My machine was having a hard time getting through the layers. Molly

Are you using a walking foot?

No, I'm not using a walking foot. My machine is a Bernina 830 (the older one) and I've never had a problem before with the needle struggling to penetrate the sewing. I tried putting in a new needle, and that didn't help. I have a walking foot but don't like it. However, I'll try it with this cotton batting. Thank you for your reply and trying to help. Molly
