I just read this and a light bulb went off....when I do give gifts I like them to be homemade. I of course spend most of my money on my children...so not much left over. I love the thought of making decoupage items with my left over small scraps. Great gift for coworkers.

How to make a rug from fabric scraps using decoupage. No sew project http://www.ehow.com/how_7705095_make...or-quilts.html you can also make this from a quilttop...thinking it would be a great postage stamp rug made from all of my scraps.

I am going to buy some fabric decoupage glue and give a few of these a try...I would love to see what others make with their scraps.

I just did the front of a dresser I picked up for 10 bucks at a yard sale, painted it white, then used scraps on the front of the draws in blues and greens and decoupaged it all.

Had forgotten about decoupage. I have some cheapie ugly outdoor plastic chairs that are going to be treated with this process now that I have rediscovered it. Wonder how they will hold up. Not much cost to find out with old scraps, glue and a coat of varnish.

I did a PVC table with the outdoors decoupage stuff, and it came out great, but only lasted a couple of weeks in the weather...bubbled up and flaked and curled...just an awful mess! I think the outdoors stuff would work better on a covered porch, or an area where the sun and rain can't get to it!
