I love your instructions, thanks! I couldn't find the cotton clothesline so I bought 1/4" cotton rope. I didn't cover it with fabric as the rope looked muslin colored and natural. One package cost about $3 at Ace hardware, enough for a small size bowl. I used variegated thread and the design was nice on the natural rope. I then found synthetic clothesline at the Dollar Store. It's puffy but sews up great for coasters and small projects. The clothesline I found at Walmart is synthetic but better then then the Dollar store. It is not puffy. It made a nice sturdy bowl.

Love this idea. I think I will start with coasters, this would even make a wonderful floor rug! Wonderful job in showing us how to do this!

I love this! I made a coaster and started on a rug- I found that my SID foot really helped to keep me on track while sewing. Thank you for the wonderful tutorial!
