there was a tute for these a yr or so ago but so many tutes get buried under all the new topics. That being said-thanks, it is always nice to be reminded of a good project. These are useful and can be made to match placemats, pot holders, table runners etc. great tute! like so many have said; these make good gifts too.

Any comments on how these fare in the washing machine/dryer?

Mine have turned out fine. A bit of hand shaping and all is well. I would prefer to not dryer dry them. Air drying leaves the shape the way you want it. Not the way it wants to turn out.

Brenda,

Thank you for post this. It was a fun project. Here are a few that I made.

Thanks!

What size fabric did you use for these? And are those corell bowls?

Do these work well for glass bowls? And I take it the fabric stays cooler so you can hold under bowl after its taken out of microwave?

This is a neat idea for scrapes.

These bowls were shown at the quilt guild meeting just last week - I'm so glad I found this tutorial - these will be perfect for my grandkids to use when they get home from school and make an after-school snack - they won't risk burned fingers or spilled food due to heat. Thanks so much!
