I love to hand quilt but I do have to have a thimble. Your quilting is so beautiful.

What fabulous work!!

Thank you, thank you for the tips. I'm just starting to handquilt and it is so helpful to hear what works for you. I'm another who struggles with even stitches -- especially on the top. Your work amazes me.

Beautiful!

Beautiful work. I too am a handquilter. But, I use a thimble and my fingernails! My fingers have enough holes poked in them!!

Try loosening the tension of your quilt in the frame; you don't have to be able to bounce a coin on the quilt. I allow enough ease to be able to push with my off hand underneath to create a dimple on top to put the stitches on the needle. I can usually do 4-6 on the needle at a time.

can we see what the other side looks like? THanks.

Your quilting is always so beautiful. Thanks for showing how you do it.

Andrea, your work is so fascinatingly beautiful. I don't know how you can quilt and not get a sore finger. I would love to learn, as thimbles never fit my fingers well. (any kind) I admire your work so much and I am so happy for you that you enjoy something you do so well. I am sure your entries will bring more recognition to you and your talent. Thank you for sharing and God bless you, my friend.

thank you for the pictures, I'm a visual person so I learn more from seeing. I'm not sure I have the patience to do single stitches, I've hand quilted for so long I would forget and do several stitches. I just sit and drool over your quilts.
