You can make these in 5 minutes, or less if you chain piece. Great way to use up your scraps.
cut main fabric 6 1/2 x 5 1/2, lining 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 you need two pieces of fabric, one main piece and one for the lining sew 1/4 inch seam along both ends of the 5 1/2 sides, right sides together turn right sides out and press so that your lining fabric shows evenly on both sides of your main fabric bring both sides to the center and press sew across the ends using 1/4" seam then zig zag stitch across the same ends Turn the tissue holder right side out, use a point turner to poke the corners neatly |
Thanks for the tissue holder tut------------I see a bunch of them in my future!~

Thank you for doing the tutorial. I see making some for the church bazaar.

They say mistakes is the step to new inventions. I like the wider trim and would be perfect to personalize with name, initials or a small design especially if you have the embroidery machine.
Men like these also to carry in their pocket so I made some with masculine fabric, sports fabric, college fabric for students etc. We sold them at our church bazaar with a pack of tissues included for $2.00. I have also made these using suede fabric with braid along the opening edges and they do not need any lining. You just cut 1 piece of suede 5 1/2 inches by 7 inches, sew a piece of braid trim along the 5 1/2 inch edges. fold to middle and sew across ends. Since it won't ravel, no need to zig-zag. Turn right side out. You could add decorative stitch along opening edges instead of braid. Either way they are more luxurious so we sold these for $4.00 with pack of tissues included. |
Thanks for the tutorial. Your pattern is much easier than the one I currently use.

Wow, this was quick and easy. I would think $2.00 with tissues would be a great selling price. Thanks for the tute!

Great idea with the elastic for the car visor!

I did these for church last Christmas and I just made 60 for boxes we are doing for overseas this year. It can really go fast . Some of my children and grandchildren in NC made these when I was there in June.
