Default 185k

I was at a yard sale this morning, and didn't find anything I "needed", said I looked for old machines and fabric, he said he had an old Singer, thinks the motor is shot, he just gave it to me. I didn't look at it until I got home, was expecting a newer, maybe 70's, did not expect a 185K, but there's no serial numbers on it, says manufactured in Great Britain, but from what I've found, the ones from there, were brown/beige. Can someone give me some info on this, possible year, etc?

pocoellie,

The serial number is up underneath the lip of the bed. You have to pull the case bottom off.

Those are really neat little cast iron jobbies. My wife took the one we got away from me and kept it. Can you imagine that?

Lots of Tri-Flow and some lube for the motor ( if it has lube ports) and she should zoom right along.

Joe-thanks so much for the information on where the serial number is, I'm used to it being in plain sight.

Pocoellie, it is my understanding that the 185 is the same as the 99, but in a more "modern" body style. It is a 3/4 machine, but heavy nevertheless. Green is the only color I have seen them in.
Enjoy!

Dayle, when I first opened it up, I thought it was a 3/4 machine but then I saw the 185, so I thought I was wrong. Thanks, I didn't know that it is indeed a 3/4 machine.
