She has another one identical to the one I bought from her for sale. She said she got them at an estate sale. ☺

It looks nice - admit it looks new, so if you are going to vintage then no. But if you just want a hand crank and can test it then it looks great to me. I love my treadle and would like to have a hand crank machine too. Age isn't an issue to me as much as having a working machine is a must.

Ooooh just read that you got it. How cool! Is it fun to use? It looks like it would be.

Default Pleased with my butterfly machine

I have a Butterfly machine just like this - but I had to buy the hand crank and it didn't have accessories. It works well, though doesn't crank quite as smoothly as my hand crank New Home. I work with insects so love the butterfly decals. It's the only machine I have with a good decal set. Great for demos of hand cranks!

Unfortunately, these machines are not well made. It is good to hear, Liz, that you are a satisfied customer.

If anyone wants a handcrank, I would suggest starting with a Singer 99 and buy a reproduction handcrank. Easily found and not expensive. Try to find one with a spoke handwheel, but if you can't don't worry you can buy a repro of that too. Take 5 minutes to convert.

If anyone has problems with the bobbin winder as a result of the conversion contact me PM & I can send you tubing to correct the situation.
