Default Buttonhole attachment

I have posted this question but can't find it soooooo.....
Is there a buttonhole attachment for a 1950's featherweight. If so, is there a specific parts number?
Thanks

Have you tried eBay and the Singer website?

Short shank Singer buttonholers from that era are easy to find, and they fit the FW. Part #160506 is the common one in the green square plastic case. There are buttonholers from earlier days (that look like a bony dinosaur) and ones that were made a little later, including the Jetson's looking case. As far as I know most of them will fit the FW. The other kind that were made fit slant machines. I believe the slant cases are usually maroon or pink.

Daylesewblessed is correct. You need a buttonholer in a green case to fit your featherweight. The older black buttonholers come in a rectangular green case with a snap closing. The more modern ones are tan and were sold in an oval lighter green coloured case. The red or rosy pink cases were buttonholers for slant shank machines (ie 301). The basic buttonholer came with 5 standard sized cams but more could be purchased. Earlier cams were all metal while later models included plastic cams. The buttonhole cams are interchangeable and will fit in any of the buttonholers. The buttonholer also includes a plate to cover the feed dogs and a big screw to hold it on.
