Default is this a "C" or "G" ?

this logically HAS to be a "G" as a "C" would be a Prussian machine and the badge would reflect that. I have an "English" Badge but the letter sure does not look like a G to me.

There is actually a writeup about the different stamps Singer used, and how common it is to mistake the C and G - I think it showed 3-4 different "G" stamps. I'd have guessed G looking at that one.

Those little straight marks on the ends of the mystery letter have to be the serifs of a letter G. The bottom mark is much too high up on the curve to be the end of a bottom of a letter C.

The plain sans serif C is very interesting! That whole stamp is very easy to read too. Not like those fancy hard to read numbers that go with most of the G stamps that Macybaby posted.

I think it is very typical of "German Engineering" Simple is better....to a very high standard of the time in question it is very purposeful and "workman" like ... I like the cars too ;-)
