I'm so happy for you! How thoughtful of her to think of the perfect person to receive a featherweight!! Don't forget to post what you make for her! Do you have any ideas yet of what it will be?

What a wonderful post to begin my watching the quilting board neighborhood happenings. Good for you, have you done all the things you needed to do to show this little gem you've been wanting forever? Did you get all the accompanying extras? I'll be watching to see what you do for the neighbor lady. I sewed all afternoon on one of my little FWs. I thought I would be smart and use my new Janome, but after one seam, I unplugged and put it back in favor of the FW. Such a difference.

Good Idea, these kinds of gifts (like for your generous neighbor) always get the creative flow going and all of it is going to be such a joy.

A wonderful blessing. Ask her the story of her FW and maybe include it on a label for what you are going to make her.
that is super she chose You.

actually,Mariposa,I have named her. Bessie is an old family nickname for about anything we loved. I named her after my dad's favorite Jersey cow! I was raised on a dairy farm in western Ky.

Just reading through this, and was going to suggest to name it. Then I found out you had. Another suggestion would be to name it after the neighbor who gave it to you.

A friend ,no, actually a complete strange, gave me a 128 in a bent-wood case. It had belonged to her grandmother, so I named it Lillian, after her grandmother.
