Default Does anyone recognise this sewing machine

Hello,

I've spotted this sewing machine on ebay and it's fairly local to me.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/271432928622...84.m1423.l2649

Can anyone help me identify it?

It appears to be very rusty so I'm in two minds about it. I'm not sure that my limited skills could revive it, but then again it would make a lovely ornament even if I didn't use it.

Seems very nice to me, not rusty at all.

Not sure about the origin, but it's a brilliant bargain if you get it for anywhere near a fiver.

Goodness, that would be exciting. Handcrank and mother of pearl and everything.

I kinda don't think it's a Singer. Where the bobbin winder is off from Singer 12 placement and the brand plate is not something I have ever seen. But it's certainly styled in that fashion.

I would get it and debate what it is later.

It's a Silbeberg.

It was made by Anker/Hengstenberg Silverberg is the importer. Typical German transverse machine. Awesome stitching machines!
