do not know about dressmaker. just wanted to say nice machine. i have a singer 9117 it took me 2 weeks to search all about how to thread which way needle goes in. where abouts how to change belt. was at my witts end finally found all i needed. singerco.com and some other site do not know right off hand . issmac? someone will know about your machine.have fun with her after you figure her out....

That machine should have the thread run from the spool through the thread guides, down around the tension catching the spring, up through the take up lever and back down through thread guides to the needle. The needle should be put in with the flat side toward the machine and the needle threads from left to right. Pretty simple.

A suggestion about pictures.
Close the curtains behind the machine, the background light is affecting your cameras light sensor.
Or, turn on the flash so it lights up the foreground.
Those pics are just too dark to be of any use.
As for the threading, Miriam is right.
