Esto Perpetuum Deluxe
Can anyone tell me what this is? Saw it at a thrift store today & am not sure what it is. Serial #FR40956S
Price is $25.00,Should I go back & get it? Decals are in good shape. Sorry pics are a little off.

The serial number won't do you any good. Any records that might have existed are going to be long gone. It's a Japanese made Singer 15 clone. My avatar is one too. They're decent machines. I'd be sorely tempted at $25. It's not a bad price in my market.

My HOTHER SEWMATIC

has the same decals. It is made by JUKI and is one fine machine. Look underneath and see if it's marked.
Mine is marked JUKI in many places.
What does or did it say on the arm? I can't read it.
If I had seen that machine in a thrift store I would have made a brag post; "Lookit what I got" rather than asking if I should get it ....... .

Thank you for the info. Miriam, that thread is great! Still haven't finished it but lovely machines. I should have purchased it yesterday since I was so antsy so get back. It was still there at 9:30 AM so I took it home. Joe, I checked the bottom & it does have Juki stamped on the frame. It also has J102 stamped in the middle and at the bottom of the bobbin frame. It does need a bobbin case. Does Juki have an info & parts site? Here are a few more pics, hopefully they are clearer. Thanks again! It is missing the badge on the R side & the spool pin on the bed of the machine.

Since it's made by JUKI I'm glad you got it.
I've looked all over the internet and even sent JUKI emails, but have found nothing and got no replies from JUKI. I'm sort of at a stalemate.
It will take a standard Class 15 bobbin case, don't buy a cheap one, and of course uses standard 15x1 needles. You can get everything you'll need except for the hard parts at Sew-Classic.
Just checked my Clones From A to Z file and I think your machine would have been badged as a Hoover. Here's a pic of the one I have in my file:

The decal on the arm is what I think yours was originally.

I have worked on lots and lots of Japanese clones. They usually need tension work. A lot of them don't turn freely. They usually are reparable. Yes they are good machines when they have been serviced.
