I want to thank everyone again. This board is such a helpful place and fun too!!
I took the needle plate off and cleaned the little springs and I also oiled the hook and waa laa it is much quieter and is a dream to sew with. It actually coasts the last couple of stitches and stops with the needle down. I have been piecing "Night Sky" by Jaybird Quilts. My little Midge is doing a great job.

Thanks again,
Ethel

I put drier sheets in the bottom of the case and some Irish spring soap in the tray just for good measure. It worked. The case almost smells good now.

Dave McCallum uses a light bulb. You're basically trying to kill the mold if it's the case and if it's the machine, it's probably the felt smelling a little of old and possibly somewhat "off" oil and grease.
