Singer Red Eye 66
#1
Hello all. I'm buying a treadle Singer 66 today for $125 that seems to be in really nice condition. The scrollwork is very well preserved, but the cabinet has some mild damage, cosmetic only. Seller tells me it is in working order. I tried to attach the photos that were sent to me, but I'm no computer genius, so they may not make it to you. What is your opinion? Good buy? Or not so good? Thanks for taking the time to respond. I really value your opinions.

I think it's beautiful. If the veneer is loosening, use a glue syringe and wood glue then set some really heavy books or anything large and evenly heavy on it overnight. Wipe off any excess with a damp cloth.

Looks pretty and $125 is reasonable.
I suggest printing off the threading directions for the 66, taking some thread and fabric with you and test it out if they have the leather belt.

I believe the machine comes with attachments (the machine is a 1916 model so the attachments probably aren't numerous) and original manual. In the original ad, the seller had pics of stitches from the ol' girl, but you're right, I should try it.
