Thumbs down Standard Treadle 215991 gift from DH

Husband surprised me with a Standard Treadle machine 215991 with coffin cover, 11 bobbins, needles, wooden ruler that fits into attachment box, booklet, and black box of all the attachments that came with machine when new. In great shape no wood missing on it only one water ring on drop part of table. Needs a new belt but found the staple for belt in att. box also. Can anyone tell me anything about this machine or where to find the other attachments that the book tells about that were to be extra order for machine. I am in AWE of how good this machine was taken care of. Needs very little cleaning, mostly just a little cleaning of dust under machine in cabinet and to oil it.

    Heather Elaine,

I can't help with the accessories or anything about the machine.
You can make a staple for the belt out of stiff wire or some thing else. It doesn't have a great deal of stress on it.

Sounds like a great gift ..... so ..... why did you give it a thumbs down?

Can you post a picture? I'm thinking this is an early version, based on the serial number. I've read that the earliest do not have the ability to use the chainstitch spider. For the other specialty attachments - you watch eBay like a hawk and look for them tucked into other boxes of attachments. I've found a few of them that way. Most sellers have no clue what they've got.
