Great machine and cabinet! I don't think I've seen that particular design of cabinet before. I love the drawers inside the door on it.

Glad to see your cabinet has all the "insides" - often the top support is missing.

This cabinet is designed so that the support leg on the door of the cabinet will drop down and extend when open, and the top flap rests on it for support. The top is not made to be left open without that extra support, like some cabinets are.

My only gripe with this cabinet - it uses a different key than other Singer cabinets - it's a longer barrel key, like a lot of china cabinet use - and it's on the long side.

Wow! What a gorgeous machine! Looks like she was used very little and stored carefully.

Beautiful machine and I too love that cabinet! Funny that you said you were not afraid to work on it due to no risk of electrocution but then there is an electrical light sitting in the cabinet. Ha! Obviously from some other machine.

Thank you all! Ah ha, believe those mentioning it being a 66-1 are right...checked the copyright dates in the manual and the latest was in the 1930s. According to the serial number which was G-something it dates to 1921.

According to the seller the machine belonged to his grandmother who had a men's clothing store. It largely is in good shape, with one area of wear from use on the decals which I don't mind as I see it as part of the machine's story. Might do some very minor work restoring the cabinet's finish.

Someday I'll have to get the Lotus and Tiffany decals...there are so any beautiful variations!
