Living in a large metropolitan area, these machines are a rare find.

They're even scarce here in central IL. I've been looking for a couple years now for empty treadle cabinets. None to be found. I'm anxiously waiting for Macybaby to bring the two she's got for me. Then two more of my treadle heads will have a forever home.

I've found two treadle irons that were .... "re-purposed" into tables last Saturday. The prices were so far out of the realm of sanity I doubt they'll ever sell them.

Well now you have one be fore warned they are herd animals that love company and the sound when you sew is so soothing you can not imagine. The sphinx decals are wonderful, like Rodney said most I see are in really rough shape so take care very nice machine and I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from her.

Congratulations on your find! The machine appears to be in pretty good condition -- decals are wonderful. I've gotten lucky on a machine I got for my cousin in Arkansas -- but the shellac is showing its age. That and a 201 my son collected from somewhere a few years ago. We have the products and the plans to french polish to improve the shellac and protect the decals. These machines carry a lot of history -- and I will always wish they could talk and tell us their stories! Congratulations again!
