I took my standard out last night. It's been years since I've played with that one.

The flap at the front panel, opens to allow room for your arm to reach under and remove the bobbin.

anyway I found that my machine sews fair to medal'n. it treadles so smooth it's hard to believe. The medal'n part is SHE"S broken !!! I didn't notice this in the past. The needle plate has a slot wore in it, after you finish a seam, take the fabric out and cut the threads, the bobbin thread is in the feed dogs. when you sew the next piece ( seam) I hear a slight chunk sound, then it sews fine. what happens is on the underside, there will be maybe two stitches that rat nest.

I have two standard heads they look the same, the #1 machine has a 6 digit SN #, #2 has a 7 digit #.. The needle plate and feed dogs are not the same. I used #2 head for till today

I forgot how much I do like this machine, Then I got out the Damascus VS. I don't care that much for VS machines, but this one doesn't jerk, it's as quite as a rotary, The thread comes out looking like a thigh candy cane.

makes me wonder which machine do you save. if we end up living in little house on the Prairie , oops I already do.

Lol, I've seen some of the work you've done on your machines & cabinets on these threads i.e., the New Brunswick cabinet. Thank goodness you don't have to decide. Awesome work on that btw.
