Default Goodwill Find Today

I had to run back up to Redding today so I stopped at Goodwill and found this. I bought it because it looked cool with its pretty silver swirled pearl container and I have several Whites. Only $5.00 no booklet and no sewing machines today.

Those buttonhole attachments make such lovely buttonholes. And that case is gorgeous!

I think I would have bought that case even if it had been empty. LOL Does anyone know if there is a way too look at all of the different buttonholers and tell what type (not brand) of machine they fit? Can most of the ones that are short shank fit all short shank machines or do the way the attach make a difference too? There are so many buttonholers out there I just can't seem to get my head wrapped around them.

Oh that it very pretty. The ones I have seen were just in cardboard boxes.

The one you picked up is for a White Rotary machine. I had one in a red plastic case that I included with a White Rotary 77 that I recently sold.

As for the rest, some folks say that the color of the case is a way to identify what sort of shank they fit. I think the red/pink Singer cases are generally for slant shank machines.

wish the machines now came with button hole makers like this, always loved using my old one that doesn't fit any machine now.

The oval Singer ones are suppose to be color coded- however I've seen enough instances where they got switched, so never assume the color of the case will indicate the right one is inside!

Good advice. So how do you know for sure if it is a good fit for your machine. I know that it has to fit the presser bar but is there anything else that I can look for as I try these things out?
