Can most of the ones that are short shank fit all short shank machines or do the way the attach make a difference too? The one you picked up is for a White Rotary machine. I had one in a red plastic case that I included with a White Rotary 77 that I recently sold.
As for the rest, some folks say that the color of the case is a way to identify what sort of shank they fit. I think the red/pink Singer cases are generally for slant shank machines.
