Sounds like you're pretty close to having a deal hammered out. Probably too soon for congratulations but I think you'll end up owning that machine.

I need a little hand holding. The guy wanted me to call him, so I did. He didn't trust Paypal but wanted to give me his bank account # so I could make a direct deposit to his account. You could have picked me up off the floor. I talked him into using paypal then as I was going to send the money, he said add $5 because I'm going to pack this so well. He wanted me to buy a table, too. I'm thinking this guy is just eccentric, but alarms were going off in my stomach & brain so this is going to be either a very expensive (for me) mistake or it will be fine. I'll know in a week or so if the Greyhound arrives. I am usually risk averse but sometimes I do damn those torpedoes. I feel like I just put my hand into a snake pit and I hope I pull out a treasure. I can't believe I did this. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I'll keep you posted. That cat's name is Scrappy.

that's rough... I have had two situations when purchasing machines that tripped my warning alarms, but went ahead anyway... Both worked out well, weird, but well.

I think if you get someone that sounds like they love the old machines, you'll be fine. It's the ones that sound like they picked it up off the curb and consider it an old piece of junk they can get some $$ for that scare me.

At least he didn't ask you to give him YOUR bank account info so he could take the money! Giving you his info is very risky on his part, so he must trust you there.

If we never took risks, live would be boring. And it's only money - you can always make more of that.

Maybe it's partying somewhere in NE along with my machine!

My second machine is marked "Out for Delivery", that one was mailed Jan 15th from Washington State. I'm very excited for this one to show up, I don't know for sure what feet will fit!

He gave me a tracking number but it doesn't work online. Sometimes you need to track economy shipping at the post office or he just miss typed it. This guy is strange. He keeps calling my office. Now he wants $16 more because the shipping was more than he thought it would be because he packed it up "so good". At least it's shipped and should arrive on Mon. I'm waiting to see what condition it's in before I respond. It sounds like he used a moving blanket to pack it which would add a lot of weight. I'll keep you posted.
