I "NEED" a case for Rusty ....
..... my 99K HC machine.
I tried my bent wood case that Lady Godiva lives in { http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...r-t183512.html } and the top will not fit with Rusty and the HC on.
So ... does anyone have a H/C suitable 3/4 size Singer case I can beg, borrow ( permanently ) steel, maybe barter, or buy?
Sorry moderators, I'm desperate, I got something I need to do and I don't have a case for Rusty and there ain't non around here to acquire.

Joe the cases are not readily available. If you have an old domed case you will have to remove the HC to put the lid on. Otherwise you may have to build a base and maybe a top. http://www.treadleon.net/woodshop/bu...dingbases.html

Miriam,
That is what I found. With the HC on it sticks out a bit less than a 1/4" too much. I've got one more case outside that is a basket case. It's a full sized case, so I'm thinking of altering it to fit a 3/4 size machine with a HC as I rebuild it. It's a pain in the butt, but short of paying $40.00 on line for one of the universal plastic cases I'm not seeing any other way to do it.

Uggg, barf, wretch, gag ................
I just looked at All Brands selection of plastic cases. I just can't see putting Rusty in a plastic case. I think he'd cry and rust himself all over again.
Those cases would work on other machines, but not for this one.

MadCow,
That is gorgeous. But way to expensive for my budget .... at least for now. I was just hoping someone here would have an extra case. But since my 99K will not fit in the bent wood case I have with the HC attached, I doubt any of them would.
The plastic one at All Brands might since it's a full sized case with modifications to make it fit the 3/4 size machines.

My 99k is in it's original bentwood case. The handle locks into place when it is used but otherwise it comes unlocked then folds a different way so the cover fits on with no problem. Mine is 1949 --new to me 2 weeks ago.
Sorry I am still trying to find out how to strt new post and all show pictures. I have the camera and used to do pics
but getting them put into here has been impossible. Will spend time again this week trying for you Joe as I have some extra parts that I want to show too. I even have a buttonholer especially for you.

Morningstar,
Download your pics from your camera to your computer's hard drive.
Make your pics between 640x480 to 800x600 either by adjusting the camera settings or using a photo program. I do both.
Then each time I come to this forum I use this link: { http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...thusiasts-f22/ }.
At the top under the turquoise bar there is a blue oval button that says "+ POST NEW THREAD". Click on that.
If you are a registered member, signed in, it will open in a new post box.
Under the goldish bar is the title bar, put the subject there.
Then a bunch of controls, one of which is to download pics. But you have to go into your control panel and set the machine to show the controls. I couldn't see them until I did this.
Post your comments then click on the third white box of icons in the second row that looks like a square photo. That will open a prompt box so the forum can hook up with your computer and upload the pic you want.
