I can always do a repaint on it for you if you want. that way you can have it any color you want it in like maybe a Pink or Red........

Thanks to you knuckleheads I have started getting more machines with electric motors and I am starting to gravitate to the dark side!

Same here. I prefer the 301 over the FW. Nice basic machine. I have one in an cabinet and one in a make shift case. Here are both machines before they were fixed up.
So-o-o pretty! Now you just need a black one to round out your collection  . Did yours come in the cabinets or did you buy them separately? I don't have cabinets for mine (2 of them are the shortbed).

If you can find the cabinets for the slant shank machines and get the cradle for the 301 to sit in the cabinet then your good to go. The bed of the 301 shortbed and the Slant Shanks are 16 1/2" long.

Oh while I am thinking about it I need to post some after photos of my 301 since I have serviced and cleaned the machine.

Thank you everyone, hoping to get it by the end of the week. It's the tan colored one. I think I got it at such a good price because the seller didn't display the attachments, just the machine, case, manual and 2 boxes. I'm really not interested in attachments, I bought it to use it. I'll have to read up on the cleaning and maintance. I can hardly wait til it gets here.

I am passionate about the 301's and I have....um....well....7 of them. The best part is I have over a dozen friends that have seen the light and now sew primarily on 301's. I clean and service them for free, and also send out oiling and greasing reminders for my friends that need reminding.

Speaking of 301's.......does anyone have a basket for one? Its what the bobbin rides in that has the finger on it that fits up into the needle plate. My FW had the bobbin case frozen to it and the only way I could get it out of there was to break the stupid thing. :-(

The machine was a victim of Katrina and was under a lot of water for quite a while! PM me if you have one.

I did the same thing! I love my 301. She'll sew through anything you throw at her unlike my newer machines. They see velcro and start a nest even before I sew!
