I've been looking at vintage machines since being on this board. I learned how to sew on my great-aunt's featherweight and my grandmothers old singer, not sure of the model number. I wanted a featherweight, but it was out of my budget. Then I started reading about the 301, it seems like this machine would work better for me. I've been checking ebay and CL. Yesterday a placed a bid on the 301, I was the one and only bidder and got it for $50 plus shipping. I'll post pictures when it gets here.

You will love your 301. I have one and DD loved mine so much that I bought her own so that I could use mine. I have the feather weight and I use the 301 as much if not more. You can FMQ on the 301. Congrats on your great deal.

Good deal, I learned on that machine. Mom traded it in when she started quilting.

Hey I honestly can not believe I am saying this but I own both a FW and a 301 and I really like the 301 better. I hate emachines but I really like this one because of the portability and it is a full size machine!

Thanks to you knuckleheads I have started getting more machines with electric motors and I am starting to gravitate to the dark side!
