Kenmore 117-552 friction wheel replacement
A neighbor has given me her mothers Kenmore 117-552. Silly girl bought a plastic Singer to replace it.
Anyway, the friction wheel is very worn and doesn't make contact with the hand wheel. I have ordered and received a new friction wheel. Before I beat the machine up trying to get the old one off, could someone give me advice on how to replace it. Thanks in advance for your expertise. Joe, are you there?

There's usually a setting screw in the metal part of the friction wheel. You might have to clean a bit to see see of it's regular or phillips type screw, but it's usually detectable. It should be very basic and straight forward; have the machine under a good light and turn the wheel by hand until you see it. Some have a metal piece you just push through,
