Rodney, Thanks for the pep talk - I needed that:-) I will give it one more shot from the beginning and see if the problem comes clear. The top tension pulls free and seems clear and has tension when the foot is down. I tried different tension settings and checked and every seems okay. But will try again as I hate to be bested by a dang sewing machine:-) Many thanks.
