Knee bar lever opening picture
I posted awhile back about my singer 201 in a bentwood case that needed a knee bar lever in order to operate. Macybaby was very helpful with her information about the two different bars. Here is a better picture of the inside of the hole in the bentwood base. So Macybaby, in your picture from my earlier posting showing the two different bars, is the bar I need the one on the left. Also here is a knee bar lever listing on ebay that is different from either of the two pictures.

I am totally confused as to what knee bar lever I need.

That link is to the standard "flat end" type.
The other is the round end type

Well, the cases I've seen with the round type have a center pin. I'd have to go look again to make sure, but they cause the mechanism to move in and out, not back and forth. Yours looks like it needs something to move it back and forth.
From the other pictures you posted, your controller looks quite different than those for the round pin type. Though I wonder if mabye someone modified this to work with something they made - if they lost the Singer one. I'll have to go dig around because I thought I had the other controller type somewhere . . . Though since I know it didn't work, it may have gone in the trash.

I looked mine over, and there is no way the round bar one would work with yours. I've looked and looked for pictures - and I have found the controller that looks like yours working with the flat end knee lever - but I have not found any picture showing the hole well.
I have yet to encounter a Singer knee lever of a different type than these two - but it could be out there. Or there was something that fits inside the hole to narrow it down for the flat bar - I'll keep looking.
This listing does have a picture of the controller like yours. The one the round bar fits into is quite different looking.

BTW - the one in your picture looks like someone used it for a pry bar and took a chunk out of it - I doubt it was suppose to be that way.
I found one listing for the flat bar type controller, but it does not show the part we're interested in. Hopefully someone will have one and post.

I found one- same seller as SteveH posted - I figured he might have one of these too, and he shows the controller it fits.

yup - yours looks the same. all there is - is a little "bump" raised area that the bar pushes against - I think that is what is showing in your picture. At first I thought it was a hole -but after seeing Duane's, I think it's a bump.
