We got the singer machine model AE892934. I have found that it was made April 1936 or1939. But nothing more. Can anybody tall me more?? thanks to all of you for your help.

Pictures help. Post a pic and I'm sure someone will be able to assist you, or go to ISMACs...I think they have a listing there of serial numbers and their associated machines.
Looks like it should be a model 24 chain stitch machine. Does it look like this?
