Thanks for updating us on your progress. Your home and your 'shed' look wonderful. You are blessed to have a hubby that can work with wood.

Went to buy paint for the inside today. While there DH asked me when I was going to paint the outside . . . I had forgotten all about that - the current color is Primer!

So another $150 and I have red exterior stain. Glad I had a 30% off coupon!

I'm getting excited about the day I can move machines in, and move machines around in the house. The Hemstitcher and blind hemmer are going upstairs where most of the machines are now. I am so looking forward to gettting that hemstitcher set up - that is going to be one fun machine!

I wish a few of you lived closer, I could really use the help deciding what to display and what to rehome. I've got machines I've forgotten about too - I have one in a case underneath the table in the den right behind me, and I don't remember what is in it, but there is a cabinet in the way so I can't get to it to check. there are four sewing cabinet in the den, three have machines in them. There isn't suppose to be any sewing machines in the den . . .

I was looking online and saw a Gold Free/Westinghouse - and remembered I bought one, so maybe that is it. . .

Cathy, I love your house and your property... and your shed! Having all of your electrics on a switch you can turn off is a great idea. What is it like out there in the winter time? And what did hubby melt down to get lead ingots? Can't wait to see what it looks like finished!

ellpea - winters here can be quite variable. We had a lot of sub zero temps but little snow this year, and then suddenly it warmed way up and melted what snow we had. I've got pictures of other years in late march with a couple of feet of snow on the ground - it's been 11 years since we last had one like this, so greening grass in March is NOT the norm. Makes it nice for getting work done outside though.

As to the lead - DH has collected quite a bit from assorted places - quite a bit of wheel weights, some scrap from the scrap yard, and he also got several large chunks of very soft lead from a guy that was rehabbing an old Dental office - and it was lining the walls of the x-ray room. He'll use them for casting something else later.

Interesting! DH has a bucket of lead weights he uses for various things. I snagged several of them as fabric weights -- boy do they hold the fabric down. (I wrapped them in cling-wrap first because, well, they are lead and can really mark stuff up!)
