I'm sure it's a typo. Otherwise they sure are proud of that cabinet!

Well the posting has finally been removed because "it's no longer available". Do you think it sold? Not likely. There is one on auction starting at $999.00 (buy it now for $1399) that has the lift like macybaby mentioned. Pretty cool and a much better deal plus it comes with a machine.

They sure seem to be proud of this cabinet. I didn't see any gold plating or diamonds on this baby! Surely had to be a typo, or else the seller thinks everyone hit the Power Ball jackpot and some crazy person would by it. I have to agree with wesing they must be dreaming or they are high on something. If anyone keeps up with ebay, let us know, perhaps it will come back up with a corrected price, lol. I just had check I out to see what kind of cabinet someone was selling for that price.

I sent an email to this seller asking if his listing price is correct because he might have added the zeroes incorrectly. He replied that it is listed correctly. I'm thinking he has another angle to this.

I think he had an antique appraiser or estate dealer tell him what they think it's worth and he decided he could make a down payment on a house with it. I've never seen an antique dealer have a realistic appraisal of anything sewing machine related. It did have a sorry looking FW included, and the cabinet was in pretty good shape but even so it won't be worth that asking price even a hundred years from now. It's worth maybe 2k. The other one that's listed is a steal for one with the lift and a machine with it. They could get at least another 1k for it.

my suspicion is that there was never any intention for a sale. sellers will do something like this as a signal, as a draw to their other listings, or to "test the waters". just this morning, there was a music book from the 80s listed as 3.99 by one seller, and 23,000 by another. you can bet the second one has no intention of getting that kind of cash...

Not this time. The seller was new to Ebay, had no previous sales and no other listings.

$24k - "Wanting and getting are two different things." Good luck at that price.

Some people have inflated values on items they have no real knowledge about. Even though most of "Pawn Stars" is scripted it amazes me on some of the demands people make. At first I thought it was "Grandma's" so they thought they had something of value in the family, but there is mention it came from a local estate sale so maybe the seller bought it at an inflated value and trying to make money on it anyway.

Looking at the add it appears this is a start up estate sales person. The disclaimer at the bottom talks about what they sell is from estate sales and the other items for sale clothes and shoes.
