This is my first time posting on here..........
I hope I am doing this correctly......
I am trying to get some information on how to find or down load a owners manual on a sterling machine. On the seal is said made in Japan and I think Model 1958. I did look under the machine and there was a plate with the following MO.C-2R then under that 312977. On the presser foot control the part number on is says 194584. Seems like the foot control is a singer and the machine is a Sterling The color of the machine is green and the box it sits on is blue. I sent an email to singer with pictures but they said seeing it was not a singer machine they could not help me. I could be threading the machine wrong but I just can not figure out why the bobbin thread will not pull up. It does run. Any help would be appreciated. I do not know how to attach a picture to this
Thank you.

rupe,
Welcome to the QB.
I'm not familiar with Sterling machines, but yours sounds like one of many Japanese made machines that were imported post WW II up to the 60 and 70s.
If you could post a good close up front view picture of the machine here it would go a long way to identifying it.
Relics { http://www.tias.com/stores/relics/ } has many manuals. For each manual they have photos of the machine to aid in it's identification.
Sometimes we use manuals for other brands of machines that actually match the ones we have in lieu of one with the correct name. Lots of different Japanese machines are badged differently, but are otherwise identical.
Good Luck.

Look at the top of the post box there is a series of icons. Third from the right is a picture in a frame. You'll need to have this feature turned on in your user management section.
Click on that and it will open a box allowing you to browse your computer's files. Click on the pic you want to post, and please try to keep it around 600x800 for those of us on dial up. The bigger pics take forever to load for us.
Then just follow the instructions as you go.
