My mom has a 301 in a cabinet. Why does everyone like them so much?

Therese, I haven't sewn much with it yet, but I love the styling, trust in Singer quality and the 301 is a nice lightweight machine so great for taking to classes. With the card table it just pops in so no big deal to convert back and forth either. I think they are made from aluminum, so only weigh about 16 pounds as opposed to some of them that weigh 20 or 30 pounds or more!

You can bet I'll be asking in the future. I rarely go to garage/estate sales though. Maybe I should.

There are lots of threads about the 301 here if you do a search using the advanced search feature.
