my Mother's day gift
was a vintage Singer. It is straight stitch only,no reverse and motorized. It has the serial # G5375685 and the belt is not correct and hand cranking the stitching is not good.I am at a loss trying to figure out what model it is.According the number it is a 66 but which one?It has godzilla finish-not smooth and shiny?Any help is greatly appreciated, will post pic later.thanks in advance for help-also has regular top loading bobbin.

Great gift! It is a model 66 though I don't know which series. Mine is still one of my favorite machines. I love the way it sews. Buy either vintage bobbins for it or good ones from someone like Sew-Classic. The ones you find in places like Walmart and Joann's in the blister packs are narrow and don't fit the vintage bobbin winders correctly.
Have you either looked up the serial number at ISMACS or called Singer? That may help determine which series.

That sort of looks like one of those machines that was refurbished by Singer and painted with the crinkle finish.
I know the 66-18 had a crinkle finish, but it had a stitch length lever, instead of the knob, and the finish was a lot more smooth.

From 1917 it's probably a 66-1. When they were rebuilt they updated the pressure foot to a low shank.
Your machine also has a larger diameter bobbin winder wheel and tire. Probably did that so they could use the original bobbin winder and the smaller hand wheel.
I can't tell if it has a Singer motor or not, but Sew-Classics has the belt you need. Mine have belt number 193077 on them. I've found that belt has fit all my electric 66s. You can also check with your LSMG.
